7 Business Books Every Entrepreneur Should Read
If you want to take your business to the next level, you have to improve your skills. You have to make the decision to grow. So, if you want to grow, you will need to learn more, and it make sense to read … Actually, they are business books every entrepreneur should read. Although, audiobooks are a great way to do things on the move, I believe audiobooks are a somewhat passive way to take in information. It’s like saying, “I’m going to do my best,” but then you leave lots of things on the table. Reading allows you to maximise all your senses.
In this post, I have put together the business books every entrepreneur should read this year. These books are the ones all successful entrepreneurs are talking about. (Derek Sivers, Ryan Holiday, Grant Cardone)
Spending 20–30 minutes a day reading these books and following their ‘GOLDEN NUGGETS’ could lead you and your business to success.
“The Lean Startup,” was recommended by Derek Sivers. This book talks about starting your business with the bare minimum. It gets you in the mindset that you need to work with what you have available to you.
One of the biggest takeaways are to leverage other people’s skills, testing your ideas and making the necessary changes.
I Highly recommend.
2. START WITH WHY BY SIMON SINEK
This book tackles an important question on why people, businesses are more influential, innovative, or profitable than others?
Simon Sinek says, ‘It all starts with WHY.’
As an entrepreneur, it’s important that you have a “WHY?” and not just a “What.” Things can get difficult really quickly in business and your why’s, as an individual can make a difference to all aspects of your business, when you have cemented your reasons.
This book will help you to discover them.

3. ANYTHING YOU WANT BY DEREK SIVERS
This book will teach you a lot about how to navigate through your business with confidence. It will also teach you how to treat your customers.
This is a book about doing things the way you want to do them. This book shows you how a professional musician built a million-dollar business, after building a website to promote his own music. Pretty soon he was selling for lots of musicians and CD baby was born.
It is a very quick read as well, with no fillers.
4. THE FOUR-HOUR WORK WEEK BY TIM FERRISS
This is the first book by Tim Ferriss on ways you can hack your business to the next level with detailed practical steps. This is one of those business books that promises the world and then offers you a biscuit crumb until you buy their next book.
Tim believes pursuing dreams and experiences now are more important than deferring them until retirement age. This is a book about designing your life in a way that lets you live your dreams at the same time as running your business.

The 7 habits are:
- Be Proactive
- Begin with the end in mind

- Learn to synergize
- Sharpen the saw
6. THE E-MYTH BY MICHAEL E. GERBER
This book slaps you in the face and makes you sit up. This book reminds us that even though you may have started your business to have more free time, more money, this rarely happens.
Michael Gerber talks about working on your business and not in it. There is detailed information on building systems in your business in order to have continuous improvement. It’s about creating a business that can run without having you in the business.
Get this book right now, if you are finding yourself stuck in a job, when you started a business.
7. THINK AND GROW RICH by NAPOLOEN HILL.
This book is not a typical business book. Although, I have added it to the list for the sole reason it tackles most things you will need as a business owner to thrive. These include a positive mindset, a desire, imagination, building a mastermind network and lots of other juicy things to move you towards your goal.
This book was released in 1937 and is not just limited to business. I have witnessed this book change the most negative person I have ever met in my life.
You can even find a free copy online in the public domain because the publishers want their message to transform so many lives.
OTHER BOOKS THAT NEED A MENTION.
Ryan Holiday — Ego is the enemy.
Robert Greene — Mastery
